Nigeria will soon have its own Wisteria Lane.
EbonyLife TV and Disney Media Distribution EMEA have set the ball rolling for a new series, Desperate Housewives Africa
which will be loosely based the hit American TV series, Desperate
Housewives. The show is set to get on air in the summer of 2014.
EbonyLife TV’s CEO Mo Abudu has come out to say that the show will have
“an African soul” and will feature a cast of new and established
pan-African talent that will showcase fashion by Nigerian dress
designers.
The series will be filmed on location in Lekki, Lagos and as Disney EMEA
general manager Giovanni Mastrangelo puts it, it will have “the
opportunity to engage African audiences through locally relevant and
entertaining storytelling.”
Desperate Housewives have been produced in Turkey, Argentina, Brazil and the United States in Spanish.
